Artist, activist, actor, director, dj, producer… Mumbai's multifaceted Kiss Nuka releases her latest single 'I Love The Drive' on the UK-based Ahead Of Our Time, part of Ninja Tune, the UK label founded by Matt Black and Jon More aka the iconic duo Coldcut. 'I Love The Drive' is out on 27th September 2022 on all major streaming platforms.

A departure from her thought-provoking, audio-visual narratives like her globally acclaimed directorial debut Ayo Burn and Don’t Be Afraid, Produced, written and performed by Kiss Nuka, 'I Love The Drive' is a groovy bass, vocal-driven, electronic dance track, a relentless, thumping, 5 and a half minute piece that twists and flips in Kiss Nuka’s signature style.

‘Riding up and down the highway to nowhere..destination don’t arrive, it’s okay 'I Love The Drive'.’ Kiss Nuka’s artistry has always been an expression of her unabashed acceptance of all experiences of her life. She writes about illicit relationships…twisted, adrenaline-fueled, explosive interactions that are no bark but all bite, the kind many of us have experienced.

Kiss Nuka first performed 'I Love The Drive' as part of her debut LIVE electronic set at the legendary Mixmag The Lab Goa earlier this year in March, where Matt heard her for the first time. 'I Love The Drive' generated such a great reaction on the dance floor and across audiences online, Matt and Kiss Nuka decided to release this track via Ahead Of Time, the label Coldcut set up in 1987 and the forerunner of Ninja Tune, known for its eclecticism.

The release includes a bonus track…a Dub mix from Matt Black using Coldcut’s Jamm Pro app.

The artwork for the piece has been hand-painted in oil by interdisciplinary, award-winning artist Mihir Sud- a long-time friend and collaborator of Kiss Nuka, with his roots of education in Parsons School Of Design and Prague Film School. For Mihir, the intimacy of the experience of creating this piece came from embracing the complexity of his emotions.

The visual performance piece for 'I Love The Drive' was created by Kiss Nuka with the intention to break borders via the mediums of art and music. The Live performance was part of the Kiss Nuka showcase at The Banquet hosted at Konvent de Cal Rosal in the Catalonia mountains outside of Barcelona on 13th August 2022 for the global community and arts-driven initiative The Great Oven.

The Konvent is a late XIX century nun’s convent and textile colony converted into a contemporary art centre. The visual piece is part of the initiative by Mixmag and The Face magazine to build awareness and raise funds for The Great Oven, which make giant, community ovens in collaboration with artists and donate them to places in need. The first community oven was built in 2015 to bring together the communities in Tripoli, Lebanon and was then sent to Beirut after the 2020 blasts.
